The old NBA Draft Lottery was way more exciting than what we have now. Back then, any team had a real shot at the top pick, which made the whole event feel unpredictable and fun. It wasn’t all about losing games just to get better odds; it was about luck and hope for every team.
Now, teams basically tank on purpose to secure better chances, and it is ruining the competition. Fans deserve to watch their team try to win every night, not just throw games for a better draft spot. The old system made it way less tempting to lose on purpose because the odds were more even.
If the NBA brought back the old lottery, it would make games more competitive, and the draft night would actually be suspenseful again. It would bring back that feeling that any team could get lucky, not just the worst ones. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely more exciting.
