At six in the morning, I jump up to my alarm going off. I rub my eyes and realize that I need to get up fast if I’m gonna make the train to my grandpa’s house.
I jump out of bed and run to the bathroom and do all of my needs in there. After that, I go to my room and get dressed and put my shoes on. I go downstairs and run out of the house, discovering the train about to pull up. I go to run to jump on it, but almost trip over the sidewalk.
Once I am on the train I sit next to an elderly women reading a book. She was cute and old with a faint smile and rosy cheeks. She asks me how my day has been going and I reply with “It’s okay, I’m running a bit late but it all works out in the end.” She laughs and continues to read her book.
When the train finally arrives at my grandpa’s house, I jump off and run to the garage to find my grandpa playing with his fishing pole. I sigh in relief seeing that he hasn’t left yet.
I walk over to the corner where my fishing pole is and realize we have no worms. I tell my grandpa that we have no worms. He chuckles and says, “It’s alright, my dear, we’re doing a different kind of fishing today.” I look at him in confusion when I realize that were going fly fishing.
We grab our poles and headed out to the creek behind his house over the hill. My grandpa shows me how to do it and by noon I had mastered it down to a tee.
A little while later I finally catch a fish; it’s a big brook trout and I am so happy. My grandpa takes my picture and we release it back into the wilderness.
I’m so happy for this day and so happy for the time I get to spend with my grandpa!
