The Alumni Dinner is a proud tradition in Corry

The Corry Alumni Dinner was created in 1874 and has now been going on for 151 years. It was created to bring graduate classes together from all decades. This dinner always happens within 30 days of graduation and is held in the high school gym with tables and chairs set up to fit at least 500 people.

The dinner actually became so important to the graduate classes that they had to make it a five-year anniversary for classes. The goal of this event is to bring all Corry graduates together.

At the event, two trophies are awarded. Those trophies are the A.D. Colegrov Trophy and the Highest Number of Classmates Trophy. They also present scholarships to the seniors. In the past, it used to be a requirement to show up, but now it is optional. However, seniors with scholarships must attend to receive them.

Organizers do a roll call at the dinner that goes back to graduates from 80 years ago. The dinner normally lasts for about two hours and after that the graduate classes normally go out and have some of their own fun. Whether it is going out to some of the places downtown, bonfires, etc., graduates of Corry love to make the most out of Alumni weekend.

So, if you are a senior this year, try to attend the dinner and see the people who also graduated from our high school who still love to come back years later.
