The day my aunt’s car broke down was the day I knew I would never be a mechanic. My aunt and I decided to go dress shopping for a wedding. What we didn’t know was that the car was going to break down on the highway. Let me tell you the whole story.
One morning awhile back, my aunt texted me and asked if I would like to go dress shopping with her to find a dress, but the location of the dress store was two hours away. I instantly responded with a yes, because I always am down for a mini adventure. My aunt picked me up about an hour later and we headed off on our journey.
We were about a half hour away from the dress store when all of a sudden my aunt’s car started acting up. We kept driving, but it got to a point where we knew we needed to pull on to an off ramp. We pulled off of the highway and on to a local road, we drove a bit and all of a sudden we noticed smoke coming out of the hood. We both were in shock and didn’t know what to do. We called my cousin (my aunt’s son) because he is a mechanic. He told us to pop the hood and show him on FaceTime, but my aunt and I couldn’t do it. We tried and tried, but it just wouldn’t budge.
About 10 minutes later I finally got it open, but that was all I could do. My cousin told us to reach our hands in and try and grab a certain part, but we were clueless. We ended up calling a tow truck, and had to ride with the tow truck workers to a health care vicinity. We were waiting for my Papa to come and pick us up when this really nice lady offered us a ride to the dress store because she was headed that way. We took a ride with her to the dress shop.
When my aunt and I arrived at the store we shopped for about two hours and didn’t find a dress. After that we walked to a Burger King to get some food, and just waited for my Papa to pick us up there. He came about thirty minutes later and we went home. That was a very long day.
