Country music has been on the rise lately with many new artists coming. There is one that stands out to me out of all the new artists: Maddox Baston. He is a 14 year old country singer who made his first appearances on social media, which led him to fame. He has released 4 singles with many more to come. 

His first song to ever come out, “Tears In the River,” is about a girl who was in a toxic relationship and is just getting over the relationship and there is a boy who comes into her life and tries to help her through this time. I like this song because it has an upbeat tone even if the song is about something sad.

His second song, “I Wanna Know,” is about Maddox falling in love with a girl from his hometown and wants to know everything about this girl and maybe be something one day. What I like about this song is I just really like the lyrics and the way the song was put together.

His third song “X’s” is about Maddox falling in love with a girl who also had an x on her hand, and these kids are truly in love, but everyone thinks they don’t have a chance of making it because they are just kids. I love the way this song was written and I really think anyone will like this song and Maddox as an artist himself.

His newly released song “Southbound” is about Maddox and this girl being in a relationship and it was going well, but nothing ever clicked, so Maddox had to let the girl go. “Southbound” is my favorite song. I love the beat of the music and I have no clue why, but this song really puts me in a good mood. Also, just the way the lyrics are sung is just perfect.
