I am a pretty big fan of Lana Del Rey when it comes to original songs and albums that had many features and having Lana Del Rey as the leading vocals just like Hozier sings all of his songs.
I never really got into slower songs that are somewhat boring from what I have heard from people. So when one song from Lana Del Ray came on the radio, I would pretend to hate it, but in reality I was thinking, “Wow, she sings beautifully!” It was now time to decide whether I liked calmer music other than upbeat. I chose to write about Lana Del Rey because she helped me heal and really tune in with myself to get things done in an orderly manner.
In 2008, Lana Del Rey started making music and debuted with her self-titled album and studio album. Although the one album did not chart, two years later, her sophomore album “Born To Die” arrived, debuting and peaking in chart values. Her first ever song created would be the title of “Video Games” and that is really when I started to pay more attention to her because of the vocal range and how the melody is captivated. Was she really boring like everyone else says?
I then read many articles about some pros and cons consisting of her and her overall image in society. I then noticed I was too in-depth with her life, but the article that I read gave off opinions I did not agree with. In 2014, Lana Del Rey headed to Miami, performing on her paradise tour, which this article was not far behind titling it as “Unpopular Opinion: I Hate Lana Del Rey” by Melany Rochester. When I read this I was informed on how they felt and an understanding of how she is seen by the negative people. In her recorded songs, her voice sounds like a complaining and annoyed teenager rolling her eyes at her parents. This is not what her music is prescribing, she is giving off positive attitude to really help mostly teenage girls going through tough times as shown throughout her lyrics and that is what I love because although her music can be sulky and annoying, I think her message is becoming across and people can’t handle that.
To wrap this all up, I think that whether it is Lana Del Rey or Hozier, it is okay to sing freely of your choice and that can be a sympathetic voice and calming tones to carry out a tune of your choice. She is a talented musician and isn’t as bad as some people may say. Her music is slightly different from Hozier, but that does not mean it is as bad.
Here I am now listening to both because both are portraying stories in their music, and I love that so much to the point they are in every playlist at least once or twice. I now consider myself a Lana Del Rey fan, and I am enjoying the view that the two clashes of pros and cons exist because we can have controversy that all began with a little note.
