Many times over the years, especially in the spring, people fight about what sport is harder, baseball or softball. They are both challenging sports. They are also pretty similar. There is just some perks that makes them different, which causes people to say one is harder than the other.
Softball – Softball is a sport played by girls. It is similar to baseball, but it has its differences. The first one is, the pitcher throws underhand. Underhand is harder to throw than overhand. The second difference is: the field is small, which means you have less of a reaction time to react to the ball making it harder. The third difference is the softball is bigger and yellow. So the ball is easier to hit, but they do have smaller bats than baseball bats. The fourth reason is, the softball girls only play seven innings. The fifth reason is softball stops at college, while baseball goes to the MLB. The softball also hurts more to get hit by.
Baseball – Baseball is a sport played by boys. It’s similar, but like softball it has its differences. The first difference is the pitcher throws over hand, making the pitch faster. The second difference is the field is way bigger than a softball field, which means you have more ground to cover. The third difference is a baseball is white and small, so its harder to hit, but they do have bigger bats, so that is another difference. The fifth difference is baseball plays for nine innings.
As you can see, softball and baseball are similar, they basically have the same goal. One is just meant for girls and the other for boys. Softball is scientifically proven to be harder then baseball. It’s mainly how small the field is, so its a less reaction time. Both of the sports are very challenging, though, so they both have their complications. People should try the sports out because they are really fun and you might like it.
