The last fall sports season just ended with the volleyball team last Saturday as they competed in the state finals, falling short to the Trinity Shamrocks.
The winter sports season kicked off last Friday, the 15th, with practices in full swing. There are multiple winter sports here at Corry High, and this year there are even more that have been added.
Basketball is kicking off for both girls and boys teams at the start of December. There is a JV and Varsity team for both the boys and girls programs. Boys Basketball has their first game of the season on 12/03. The game is away at Cochranton High School, with JV starting at 6 p.m. and Varsity at 7:30 p.m. Girls Basketball’s first game of the season will be on 12/04. The game is home against North East, with JV starting at 6 p.m. and Varsity at 7:30 p.m.
Swim starts their meets for both the girls and boys teams mid-December. Both teams will be having their first meet on 12/12 away against Girard. The meet will start at 6 p.m.
Wrestling season is a bit different this year with not only being a boys varsity team but also a girls varsity team. This is a new addition to Corry High this year. The boys team will kick off their season with an away meet on 12/4 at Youngsville, starting at 7 p.m. The girls team will have their first meet on 12/19, home against Sagertown, starting at 6 p.m.
Another new sport that Corry High has adopted is unified indoor bocce. The CoEd Varsity team will have their first game at the start of the new year on 01/07/25, and they will be facing Fort LeBoeuf at 3:30 p.m.
The last new sport Corry High gained is competitive spirit. The Competitive Spirit Cheer team will have their first competition on 11/24. It’ll be up at LECOM Sport Center in Erie; the competition will start at 1:30 p.m.
