The sun shined down onto the large campus. Outside there were tired students and a heavy rush of traffic. Inside was students getting a quick study in or hanging out with friends. UCLA was the right choice for Junior. He felt like he could belong with all of the other students and he quickly gained many friends a popularity among the school. Junior felt as if there was nothing that could take him down and this was the best he has ever felt.
“Junior” called a voice from a dark corner behind campus. Junior looked around for a few seconds before coming to the conclusion that it was in his head. He began walking back into the campus. “Junior” the voice screeched louder than before. Junior walked over towards where the sound reflected from. He saw a man. The man was hunched up and very skinny and lanky. “How do you know my name?” Junior wondered. “I have been watching you for a while now. You’re the student of the month. I am the secretary here and they tell me to keep an eye out on all students and I have found that you have been the best student this month!” said the man. Junior rubbed his head in confusion but then as he heard the news he got excited. “I wonder if i’ll get a reward from the school?” he thought to himself.
It was the next day and Junior was in the library. He was reading a book about the history of UCLA. He was trying to find the previous students that won the award but instead he stumbled upon articles of missing students. Junior saw that every November since 1990, a student has gone missing. Junior was a little spooked with this, but he pushed it aside and later forgot all about it. It was 2:00 pm and Junior was now at lunch. He was talking to all his friends about the award and he asked them if he should go talk to the principal about what reward he will receive.
Junior was sitting in his dorm as the sun had set wondering if he would receive a text about the award. He quickly realized that he would need to remind the principal so he marched down to her office with hopes that she hadn’t left campus yet. He opened the door and there she was. Junior greeted her and then began proposing his idea. “So since I won student of the month will I get any reward or a picture hung up or something?” “What” said the principal. “The secretary told me that I was this month’s student.” Junior replied. “We don’t have a secretary or a student of the month reward.” Everything started to become dizzy. Junior stumbled out of the office and into the halls. That is when he saw the secretary. He ran up to him in frustration for lying. Junior confronted him and the secretary started laughing. Then the man reached into the binder of Junior and pulled out his library book. “This student of the month.” The man circled an article. Junior read it out loud. ‘New campus footage might be what UCLA needs to stop the case of students disappearing every November.’ “Well it is November isn’t it, Student of the month?”
