On Friday the Corry girls and boys soccer team went head-to-head in celebration of their seasons ending.
The event was held at the high school soccer field starting at 6 p.m. This year marked the third consecutive year that the boys have faced the girls. This tradition started back in 2022 because the players wanted to end on a fun note and some competition. The boys have won every year so far, but the girls are ready to steal a win.
The girls made district playoffs and went up against the Wilmington Greyhounds on Saturday, October 19. They ended up losing against the Greyhounds, the score being 0-2, causing their season to end. The boys soccer team didn’t qualify for the district playoffs, so their season ended a little earlier on Monday, October 14. Their game was against the Titusville Rockets and ended on a positive note with a win of 2-0.
The game ended with the score 5-0 with the boys winning. At the end all seniors on both teams took a penalty kick for fun. The score then changed to 8-8 with it being tied. In the end the boys won yet again.
