Corry has many wonderful teachers. However, there is always progress to be made. Some would say that the best way to do this is to have the students give their feedback and grading of their teachers. After going around, I found that actually many teachers give surveys at the end of the year to see what they can do better. I think this is a great, progressive thing to do.
I think at least a survey, if not a grading, should be required for each teacher by the end of the year. There are cons to this method, though. For example, there is no way of knowing that all students will be fair to the teachers. I think that if students had a way to grade teachers at the end of the year and give examples, many people would be surprised by what Corry is letting slide, and what is truly going on in each classroom.
After asking 100 students and faculty, 95% said that students should be able to evaluate teachers at the end of the school year. Only 5% said that they shouldn’t.
I think that teachers should be confident enough to feel okay with their students grading them on their ability to teach. If there was a way to ensure that it was fair, I definitely think that students should be able to grade and evaluate their teachers.
