The month of October is a spectacular month giving off the fall feeling and the impressive amount of fun activities in which to participate. That being said some traditions could include wearing scary costumes, trick or treating, black cat myths, candy apples, lighting a bonfire, Halloweekends, haunted houses, and so much more that the list could go on forever.
Scary or non-scary costumes – this is one tradition that makes the one night of the year so fun. Everyone dresses up in whatever costume they desire and admires the strange things people can come up with. Halloween contributes to both scary and non-scary outfits. Scary could entail ghosts and witches that describe ancient traditions meaning to get rid of spirits, while the non-scary party could dress up as fairies and beloved characters, dressing up as these could embrace their own aesthetic and creativity. Today, many embrace both styles, which makes people get together and conclude a celebration out of it all.
Trick or treating is the best time for all kids to get together with their siblings to get big-sized candy bars to the smallest pieces of candy. Children all over could even get toys and pencils depending on what house is lit up. Many families walk door to door just to get a sweet treat and it is also a nice time to see your loved ones having a blast. A fair warning though this is when you must be careful as well because you don’t know what scary people are out there that are ready to give you a fright.
Thirdly, are the black cat myths and candy apples. This is very typical: if you are driving or walking home and suddenly a black cat jumps out ahead of you, legends say it is best if you go around the block or something bad will happen. I connected to this especially because every time October comes a black cat comes and visits me. Not that I am scared. I love it since it is my favorite holiday, but others might be scared. Shifting into candy apples makes me want to go get some just because it is fall and they look very pretty in the daylight when you’re out all day going through festivals where this item is usually picked by everyone.
Night time might be scary but also a good time to gather around a campfire to light smores, or even enjoy the night time breeze with popcorn and such. With evening music playing, lighting a bonfire is just what you need to keep toasty and to visit your beloved on Halloween or fall time in general.
The last thing I want to cover is the amount of activities you could do during the time of October. The reason I chose haunted houses as a big one is because it really is a tradition for a lot of people and it brings out the scary side of Halloween and when everyone is on their tiptoes because they feel the adrenaline rush throughout their whole body.
In conclusion there are many Halloween traditions out there for you and your families and it is your opportunity to get out there and have fun. These traditions have been here for over hundreds of years and what makes them so special is that people today are still carrying them out throughout generations. I believe that the costumes and the weather are my favorite parts because you can do anything you desire as well as get dressed up for fall pictures to display\.
