On Wednesday, October 9, hundreds of Corry students were given the opportunity to go on the “Manufacturing Day” Field Trip. There was a variety of grades that went. A majority of eighth grade went as well as freshman and sophomores. Gifted 6th and 7th graders were given the choice of going, as well.
The students piled into buses at 8:45 a.m., then drove up to the Erie Bayfront Convention Center. At the Convention Center there were several tables set up from local manufacturing businesses. The students were able to talk to the businesses, ask questions, and be able to grasp a better understanding of what a manufacturing business really is.
There were games such as corn-hole set up for the students, and they were able to get free things at the business tables. Students got things such as pens, balls and even light up Viking hats. Hot dogs were provided for the students to eat at lunch, and then they all got back into the buses and arrived back at the school around 1:30.
Many students had nothing but good things to say about their time at Manufacturing Day.
