Lady Beavers 6-1 season so far

Corry Softball stands at second in region as the end of the season approaches

Corry Beavers softball has had a memorable season so far with a 6-1 overall. The Lady Beavers are second in District 10 Region 4 and ranked seventy-sixth overall in Pennsylvania. As well as number fourteen in Pennsylvania Division AAA Rankings.

The girls have played 14 games so far this season. Their first game was on March 25 against Cathedral Prep at home, the Beavers won with a close score of 5-4. On March 28, Corry took the win over the Warren Dragons on our home turf.

The Beavers continued into April, traveling to Hickory on the ninth winning 5-3.  The following day the Beavers fell to the Sharon Tigers with a score of 5-0, putting an end to the Beavers winning streak. Grove City traveled to Corry on April 13, losing to the Beavers.

On April 15, Corry faced Slippery Rock and beat the Rockets at home with a score of 13-0. The next day Corry faced the Jamestown Muskies and took the win after a hard fought game, the final score being 4-3. Later that week the Titusville Rockets traveled to Corry and took a loss against the Beavers. Then, on the next day Oil City came to Corry and took a fall to the Beavers.

On April 24, Corry beat the Franklin Knights at Franklin’s home field. The following day, the Beavers took a 12-1 win over the Rockets at Slippery Rock. On the April 27, Corry faced the Knights for the second time that week, taking the win on our home turf. The last game of April was away at Oil City, where the Lady Beavers beat the Oilers.

So far, the Beavers have had one game in May, playing Hickory as the last home game of the season, as well as the Senior night for the four seniors, Mackenzie Spence (Catcher), Allie Goodwill (Short Stop), Alyssa Burlew (Left Field), and Kaycee Porter (Center Field). On Thursday May 2, The Lady Beavers won their senior night with a score of 11-6.

Now, there are only four region games left of the season: On May 7, Corry will go to Sharon to face the Tigers. Then, on May 9, the Beavers travel to Grove City. The last two games of the season are the following week, on May 14 the girls visit Titusville to play the Rockets, and two days later for the last regular season they will travel to Jamestown to face the Muskies.

So far these girls have had an incredible season, and it will be very fun to watch and see how their season continues to play out over the next few weeks.
