Corry High School senior Lauren Thomas was selected for a highly regarded achievement, which is the All-State Choir in Pennsylvania.
Lauren was also selected for the District Chorus, and then she advanced through her audition to the Regional Chorus. At Regionals she placed second as a Soprano 1. The concert will be held at the Warner Theater in Erie, PA, on April 20. Starting on the 17th of April, rehearsals will be held every day prior to the concert in the crystal ballroom.
Lauren’s response on how she found out about this honor: “When they announced the people that would be advancing to states, I was incredibly nervous but when they read my name I was happy and extremely proud of myself.”
Her feelings on the honor are, “I am very excited and grateful to be able to have this opportunity to make music with amazing people and do what I love to do one last time.”
From choir teacher Mrs. Smrcka on Lauren’s achievement, “Lauren worked very hard this year to balance school, a part time job, varsity basketball and PMEA chorus. She has always been a standout in her talent but her drive impressed me so very much this year. She set goals, made a plan and made it happen. [These are] great life lessons to be applied to any facet of her life. I hope she always keeps music next to her heart.”
