Last summer, I visited Hersheypark for the fourth time in my life. My family and my extended family go to Hershey every four years. We stay in the Hersheypark Campground and always stay in the cabin. The campground provides a pool, basketball court, bathrooms, a gift shop, an arcade, and a massive playground. Everyone is so nice at this campground.
The first night we were there we went to the park for a trial period, which is a four hour pass to the park. The entrance was very new since the last time I went and the very first roller coaster I saw was the very new 212 foot steel coaster Candymonium. After we walked past that we went to the Hollow which is a spot with three roller coasters such as: Sooper Dooper Looper, Skyrush, and Comet. Skyrush was my very first roller coaster that I rode and I was pretty nervous since I’ve never ridden it before. When we finished the ride my uncle Matt goes “I lost my phone” after we got off the ride we walked back to where we think he dropped his phone and sure enough we could see his bright white iPhone 11 in the water. When our trialed ended that night we took the shuttle back to the campground which was nice because our cabin’s air conditioner was on at 64 degrees and the outside temperature was a fiery 94 degrees.
The second day we woke up at 8:00 a.m. to catch the shuttle at nine. We had to rush to eat breakfast and get dressed. Our group was about 22 people and getting 22 people down at one place at one time is pretty difficult. When we finally got on the shuttle, it was pretty full. When we arrived to the park, the line was pretty big and it was already 90 degrees. After we got through the long line we took pictures by the Hershey kiss fountain. We decided to ride the Sooper Dooper Looper again since most of the kids were able to ride. When we got of that ride we walked up the hill to go into the zoo that’s attached to the zoo, just for something to pass the time. Instead of going to ride more rides we decided to go get food at the food court in the middle of the park. because everyone was hungry. Not much happened that day just riding rides and eating food, but when the park was closing my dad and I were at the very end of the park and had to get back to where the shuttle picked us up at nine. The last shuttle to pick up people from the park is nine and we had to sprint to make sure we got a ride back, luckily we got there a few minutes before the shuttle showed up. We made it back to the campground safely and went to sleep as soon as we got back to the cabin.
The third day wasn’t very busy. We woke up kind of late because we didn’t have a full day at the park, we only had a trial that night. We went and picked up donuts from a local store called “Duck’s Donuts,” it was very good. We got two dozen they had unique kinds such as French toast, s’mores, and cookies and cream. The French toast was easily my favorite. Nothing happened that day, I went to the basketball court for like 20 minutes and that was about it. We had walking taco’s that night for dinner because it was quick and easy for us, since we were going to the park soon for the trial night. We arrived decently late to the park, but it was fine. We first rode Candymonium for the fourth time this week. The trial night was kind of boring: we only did kid rides and rode the Ferris wheel but it was still fun walking around with my family.
Now the fourth day in Hershey was intense and so busy. The day started off at 7 a.m., and the sun was already super hot, so I did not want to get up. I walked up to the bathroom to do my morning routine before we went to the park. When I came back to the cabin everyone was awake having breakfast, so I decided to have cereal. We caught the shuttle to the park around 8:30-9. We arrived at the park and as soon as we got there the heat was brutal, a real feel of 102, but luckily that day we were gonna go to the water park that’s inside the amusement park. We ended up riding the Sooper Dooper Looper again the seventh time that week. When we got off of that, we went to get changed to go in the water park and I realized I accidentally grabbed my little brother’s swimming trunks because they are the exact same. So I couldn’t swim, which was fine. So my dad and I decided to go off and ride Fahrenheit, a bright orange roller coaster that goes straight up for about 13 seconds and then drops you down an inverted hill. I really loved that ride: all the flips and rolls you did, I really enjoyed it.
The fifth day at Hershey we packed up to go home, so we didn’t do much, just packed up everything in our cabin and loaded it into our car, and went to the shuttle to go to chocolate world. We spent a lot of money on shirts, candy, and the best thing was the cookies and cream milkshake. We caught the shuttle back to the campground and left Hershey.
If you ever get the opportunity to visit Hersheypark or even Hershey, definitely go. This park is my favorite that I have visited.
