David Tepper is the owner of the Carolina Panther’s. His team this year has a record of 2-14. This is something that David Tepper is not happy about, like most of the people in his situation would be. This all took the turn for the worst during the Panthers most recent game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Panthers were on their way to their next loss, and Tepper was already getting gradually upset. With the last three minutes of the game a rookie, Bryce Young, who plays for the Panthers, threw an interception. This is when the owner of the Panthers got into an unknown altercation with a Jaguars fan and ended up throwing his drink onto the fan.
This resulted in the NFL becoming extremely upset and fining the owner, along with making him deliver a public apology statement. The NFL had fined Tepper $300,000. When the public was made aware of this, at first they were thinking that the punishment was very harsh. But sooner than later, the public would go to find his net worth to be over 20 billion dollars. This made people upset because with a lot of precise calculations, it would come out that this fine was equivalent to a dollar to the Panthers owner.
Many agree that this should not be accepted as a true punishment. It is debated if it was harsh enough, but ultimately it is not the public’s choice. What will prevent him from doing this again?
