The Light Pole on West 12th Street

The Light Pole on West 12th Street

There was a boy who lived on West 12th street. He was always a quiet, mysterious kid and he never talked to anyone. Nobody at school knew his real name because of the incident that occurred in preschool. In preschool the teacher called him by his name and he went insane and bit her. Ever since that day they never called him his name again. No kid can remember the name that the teacher said, but only the incident that happened because of it.

The only time people saw him outside of school, ever, was when he was walking his dogs. That was until he dropped out of school in second grade to do cyber school because he couldn’t take the interactions anymore, he is now in eighth grade. Not much could make him happy except for aliens. He loved aliens and everything to do with them. Every day he did more research on aliens, watched alien movies, videos, looked at space through his telescope, etc. He even sent them messages through his telescope.

He begged his parents to take him to space every day because he just knew that the aliens were real. His whole family thought that he was weird and always told him that aliens were fake. He never believed them because he swore he saw them through his telescope all the time. One late night he was out walking his dogs and the street lights were even on because it was dark. He was almost home as he realized the street light continuously got brighter as he walked toward it. He was confused, but he continued to walk.

As soon as he got under it, it widened up and he began to float. He tried to bring his dogs with him, but it was like they were stuck to the ground. Something told him this had something to do with aliens. He believed this was finally his shot to hangout with the aliens. He was completely sucked up into the street light, but somehow it turned into a UFO. He was so worried about his dogs and how they were going to get home, but it wasn’t long before he couldn’t even think about his dogs anymore.

He came to a flat surface in a dark room. He had no idea where he was at. There was a small window to his left, so of course he had to look out of it. It was pitch black out the window with the exception of a few small pieces of light.

“Where am I?” he said aloud. The silence got louder. He then walked to the one door in the room. When he opened the door to the next room, it came to his surprise.

There were three aliens in the next room. He thought it had to be a dream, but it wasn’t. One of the aliens said, “Hi Nelson Moore, we’ve been waiting for you for years. We knew you’d come someday, and just so you know we’ve been getting your messages since you were in preschool.”

Nelson wasn’t even sure how to respond, he was in shock. “How did you know my name? No one in my town even knows my name, and are you guys real?” he said.

The alien replied, “We know everything about you. We’ve wanted you to come visit forever. We are so happy you’re here now.”

Nelson was so happy, they were meant to be best friends. He already knows he wants to stay here forever. “I’m really happy to be here, but won’t my parents notice that I’m gone?” Nelson asked.

Another alien replied, “Don’t worry about your dumb parents, we took care of them.”

Nelson was very worried and started to panic. “Let me get off of this UFO! Where are my parents? What did you do to them?” He screamed and screamed.

“You’re next,” the aliens all say in sync as they laughed…
