It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, but hold up, everyone in Corry High School might not feel so jolly. As snow can bring great tidings and cheer, some of that holiday happiness comes from a snow day, which kids did not receive. As it snowed the night of Monday November 27 into Tuesday November 28, the weather conditions were very unexpected, but the high school didn’t get a day off. Let’s find out if the faculty and the students enjoyed the winter wonderland.
Addison Schwabenbauer: “I love it but I hate it at the same time. I love it because I miss the snow but I hate because its freezing outside. Burr.”
Kaylee Wiesner: “There should have been a two hour delay because the roads were really bad.”
Lily Hogan: “It’s gross and scary coming to school.”
Mrs. Rutkowski: “The only road I drove on that was plowed was the schools driveway”
Izzy Kellogg: “I was frustrated that I woke up and dint receive a 2-hour delay text from my mother”
Kylie Graves: “I hate it. Kinda wish it never came”
Cooper Downey: “I wish the peak was open. I wanna snowboard so bad.”
Neveah Gamble: “I could’ve been okay without it. I love the winter, it’s pretty, romantic, and strangely calming. As this is my first year driving in it, not only that but I just hate being cold, I wish it would have waited a bit longer”
MyLeigh Music: “I love the snow, so I enjoyed it finally happening. I was very excited to see it when I woke up, though, I wish we would have had that day off of school so i could enjoy it without being scared of driving.”
Maddie Braswell: Personally, I like the way it looks when the snow first falls, I just didn’t enjoy driving or walking in it. It was pretty inconvenient. I would have enjoyed it better if I didn’t have to go out in it of coarse. Don’t get me wrong though, it got me excited for Christmas.”
Mrs. Bennett: “I was definitely unprepared for the quantity of snow. The drive was quite atrocious!”
Mr. Brewer: “It doesn’t bother me, it is what it is. I guess I do like the snow for hunting.”
Jacob White: “I thought it was perfect timing.”
Luke Hurd: “I mean I love snow but what ruins it for me is people.”
Felix McKnight: “Very pretty, but really annoying. looking at it through a window is nice but being outside in it sucks.”
Aivon Vandervort: “The snow was annoying, its pretty to look at when you see the aesthetics and the idea of Christmas is coming, but the snow is aggravating despite it being pretty. I wish we had a two-hour delay, I wanted that text from my dad REAL BAD.”
Vonneece Hayes: “I thought is was nice and exciting.”
Miranda Dubrowsky: “I was very happy about it.”
Karli Stanbro: “I am just a girl. Just a hungry girl and you know your girl can’t go out and eat so good when the roads are bad. I just want to eat so good, guess I am just gonna be eating food at the house. Sprinkle, Sprinkle good to me, snow go away so I can eat.”
Kristopher Wolff: “I love snow because I own four snow mobiles, but on a Tuesday morning coming back from Thanksgiving break, there should’ve been an extended break or at least a two-hour delay.”
Nicole Perkins: “It was sudden and I thought we should have had school canceled. Some kids had to walk in that.”
Gabby Troyer: “I was shocked because I didn’t expect it and it looked like a snow globe. I also lost feeling in my hands while brushing my car off but it was nice while also not nice at the same time.”
Taylor Moats: “I mean it was kinda cold and a little scary to drive in but it was so pretty and peaceful. I was definitely salty when we didn’t have a 2 hour delay.
Mrs. Anderson: “I am not a fan of snow but we live where we live so I just deal with it.”
Sky Messinger: “I like it enough to not absolutely hate it but I really don’t like being cold. The only reason I can think of that might make me enjoy winter is that I can play more video games.”
Well there you have it folks. The thoughts about the snowfall are very mixed, but it’s clear that the students AND staff felt that they deserved a two-hour delay at the minimum. There’s more snow on its way, so for the sake of all that attend the school, let’s deck the halls and be jolly.
