Beaver Tales staff 2022-2023 playlist

Beaver Tales Staff

At the end of the year, Beaver Tale staff members were given the option to share a song that they felt defined the school year for them with a brief explanation.

Jon Albers – “Rapp Snitch Knishes” It has one of my favorite samples of all time. I also love MF Doom and really got into his music this school year. This was also my top song of 2022

Willow Bowen – “Man Overboard” by Blink-182 because it reminds me of this school year and how I’m “So sorry it’s over.” I will miss my senior friends dearly and cannot imagine newspaper class without them.

Alivia Burger – “Gloom” by Djo. It’s such an upbeat song that has basic lyrics that also betray the high-spirited beat. The song is easy to sing along to and digest in addition to being a good song.

Ashton Mineo – The song to sum up my school year would be “Missed Calls” by Mac Miller. I heard this song so many times this year, whether it was my own doing or one of my friends playing it.

Emma Minnick – “Love” by Lana Del Rey. This was also my response for my senior survey. This song is about being young, spontaneous, and carefree, which is something I have really tried to embody my senior year. I listened to this song nonstop because it reminded me of driving around with my friends, listening to music, and buying clothes.

Trent Williams – “Just Wanna Rock” by Lil Uzi. It has really good flow, and the artist has a really good voice.

Kylynn Deane – “Paris” by Taylor Swift. This song came out this year with her new album. It is upbeat and fun, and it was immediately one of my favorites on the album. I have listened to it so much throughout the year.

MaKenna Moore – The song I listened to the most this school year is called “Hey Jude,” by The Beatles. This song brings me joy for some reason and I don’t know why. I have listened to it non-stop all year long while doing work in school.

Mr. McBriar – “Life on Mars?” by David Bowie. I’ve always been a fan of David Bowie, but this last year in particular I found myself going down the full Bowie rabbit hole. This is not only my favorite David Bowie song, but maybe my favorite song overall.
