March ‘Boy of the Month’
April 4, 2023
The “Boy of the Month” for March is Jaydan Southworth. Jaydan is Key Club President, and part of both the National Technical Honors Society and the regular National Honors Society.
Southworth is also part of the marching band, winter guard, and is a color guard captain. Jaydan has been a student council member for three years and has been both the secretary and president for one year now. Jaydan is a SkillsUSA treasurer. In addition, Southworth has participated in Battle of the Books, the Academic Decathlon and is a part of the Beaver Blue Crew.
I asked Jaydan how he felt when he first found out he was chosen. He said, “I don’t remember exactly how I felt. it was just a lot at once.”
I then asked Southworth why he believes he was nominated, he then said, “I think I was nominated because of my community service and because of my position in the school as an ambassador.”
Every month there is a boy nominated to be the “Boy of the Month” in Corry that is featured in the Corry Journal. The boy is chosen by a committee of high school staff members and is honored by the Corry Rotary Club.
