Opinion on SmartPass

The new SmartPass system gives students limited time to get to the bathroom and back. How are you supposed to be back that fast? What if you needed to go to the bathroom very badly and it expects you to be back as soon as possible? The time limit of five or eight minutes might not be enough.

So, teachers like the SmartPasses because they can know where their students are and what time they left and should be back. I feel as if they are doing the SmartPasses so they can catch people skipping class, damaging the bathrooms, or doing things they shouldn’t be doing in school. I think that they could have done something different to prevent these things from happening, but instead they chose to do the Smart Sasses.

What if someone’s chromebooks is dead and teachers aren’t there? What are they supposed to do then? And, if someone needs to go somewhere like the bathroom really badly, they are stopping the teachers from teaching their class to write students a Smart Pass.

I feel like we should go back to normal passes so that we don’t need chromebooks to write SmartPasses for students or so the students don’t have to write them their selves. I think that the school board should meet up and decide to go back to traditional passes.
