Self-care activities could be things such as, hiking, exercising, doing a hobby, and more which would release endorphins. Endorphins are chemical messengers in the brain, they control things such as pain relief, mood regulation, and stress reduction. So by doing things that are self-care to a person it increase their happy mood, because of the chemicals, like endorphins that are released.
