In the world we live in, comparison is very normalized. Subconsciously, people look at what they have and decide they want what other people have, or look at how they look, then wish they looked like someone else. Comparison does not add anything positive into somebody’s life.
In reality, nobody truly knows what anybody is going through. You may think a person has their whole life put together, but you will never get a real look into everything they might go through, which is why you should never compare.
Nobody is the same, which is something very beautiful about the world that people make out to be ugly. It seems like everybody strives to be similar, so much so that they hide who they really are in order to fit in. It’s so important to remember that nobody is the same for a reason. Never mask your personality or identity just to please other people. If you find the right people, you’ll never even think about needing to do that.
Comparing yourself to others can cause low self-esteem and anxiety. Avoiding comparison is easier said than done, and it’s something that I struggle with as well, but it’s really helpful and significant to love yourself as you are and not worry about what other people have that you don’t.
