Elevate Education visited ninth-grade English classes on Friday with a workshop to help with issues inside and outside of school. They usually come in four times in the school year, so once in a quarter. Friday’s presentation was about Home Study Hacks, and it included tips and advice that could help students study more efficiently.
Abby, the presenter, was very calm and relaxed while she was up and talking to the students. She gave students a packet to write down tips and tricks so that they can look back on it if they ever realize they need help. Another thing is that they make up scenarios with made-up people so that we can see our possible situations from a different perspective and notice that we may need help with our studying.
They also ask us question on the things we are learning to ensure that we are listening and paying attention, which helps because then if we don’t understand a certain aspect of it then listening to another student in your class could possibly help you understand it better and more in depth. They also help us understand that sometimes just because we think we are doing okay in school doesn’t mean that we are and we need some help studying.
This reporter thought that it was very helpful and people can really use it in their lives. It can really help students, and maybe even adults, so that they can do their studying more efficiently and in a better environment. A positive is that they give examples and make up scenarios because it helps some people understand the information by looking at a different perspective. Also, they gave students a packet to fill in in case they need go back and look at the tips and tricks provided.
