Playboi Carti's 'Music' finally releases

Playboi Carti announced his next album years ago just for fans to wait a full presidential term for him to release it. He announced the name of the album “I Am Music” in 2024, but waited months to start the rollout. This had fans angry and anxious to see what Jordan Carter had been cooking up in the studio.

After a long wait, Carti started the rollout to his album a week ago. The album “Music” came out at 7 a.m. EST March 14, 2025, the morning after a blood moon. This fits the mysterious aesthetic with which  Carti portrays himself. Fans thought he was delaying the album, which was supposed to come out at 12 a.m., but Carti was just waiting for samples to clear before he dropped the album.

“Music” has a different feel from his other albums utilizing more airy and otherworldly type beats, but also has loud hard produced trap beats. This experimental feel to the album might be controversial amongst fans who were expecting a regular, full, Atlanta-style trap album.

The album also comes with multiple features from different producers and rappers. The producers include Wheezy, Ye, F1lthy, DJ Swamp Izzo, Metro, Cardo got wings and many more well-known rap producers. The mixture of all these different styles brings together a beautifully produced album that sounds like it should be blasted at full volume.

The features list includes Travis Scott, Future, Lil Uzi, Kendrick, The Weeknd, Skepta, Young Thug and Ty Dolla $ign. The mixture of well-produced beats and amazing features combines to bring an album, which popular content creator Upbliss claims is a “30 song album… wit only 1 miss,” meaning the album only has one skip in the long 30 song track list.

This album is almost perfect, having something for every fan of Atlanta rap culture. It was well worth the five-year long wait from when “Whole Lotta Red” released. This album will most definitely be in the running for album of the year, and might even win over big names like Tyler, the Creator, and Kendrick Lamar.
