On Friday, May 2, at 5:00 p.m., a new dance studio will be having its grand opening in Corry.

The new studio is named Dance Academy of Corry and is run by Alexa and Valerie Yoder, along with Kate Reed. It is located at 11 S. Center St. just across from Domino’s. The company will teach both rec and competition dancers. Parents will be able to register their children at the grand opening, but should hurry because spots will fill up fast.

Before the true dance season starts in the fall, there will be various dance camps. The closest one is the Cinderella Dance Camp for dancers ages four to eight. The camp will be hosted Saturday, May 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. All the spots are full as of now, but you may private message to join the waitlist.

The studio owners’ mission is to make dance fun, and to let you have a life outside of dance. Their motto is “Dance your heart out.” The classes they will be offering for rec dancers are: preschool, kindergarten, combo (mix of jazz and lyrical), tap, and hip hop. Competition dancers will have the opportunity to take: technique, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and approved solos. This will be a very exciting and inspiring thing to open up in Corry.
