Living through life I have always loved being a twin because it brings me joy to say that I have a partner for life whether in my sad times or my frustrating times. Not all moments are fantastic, but I know that the other half of my life will always be there when needed.
I believe that twins that are the same gender as in girl-girl and boy-boy are better because of a few reasons, such as getting along better, understanding the same problems, and their interests are probably the same. These are why I am deciding to discuss this very point.
On the other hand twins who are girl-boy being opposite could have negative outcomes as in not following the same rules, or interests, and maybe different hobbies or friends. This is something that would bother me throughout life, not liking the same interests, which is fine, but it is nice for other twins to be a little different.
I think of this quote pretty often when I am being caught up in the twin type stereotype people who sit and try and guess who is who, “Though we may not always walk the same path, we still share the same journey.” While it’s true that opposite-gender twins may have different interests, hobbies, and experiences, these differences can actually complement each other.
Ultimately, having a twin is like having someone who can talk to you about everything and I mean everything. I believe that, since being a twin when I was younger I always loved it and will continue to love my other half. While she grows and pursues whatever she may want in the future I will be here to support her. I will also support other sets of twins as well.
No matter the gender, being a twin is about the deep bond that transcends similarities or differences, and the shared understanding that you’re never truly alone. Wrapping things up with a little humor: What’s a twin’s favorite fruit? Pears, of course!
