The famous show Yellowstone follows the Dutton family on their journey of being the biggest ranch in Montana and the battles they have to fight to keep the ranch up in running. John Dutton (Ranch Owner) has a dream to carry on his fathers legacy and generations before him. He wants to keep and maintain the land like his father before him. He is constantly faced with many opponents who try to take the land. John wants every acre and every inch of Yellowstone ranch, so he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep it that way.
While in these constant battles against others, he finds his family falling apart. His oldest son is shot by trespassers and dies. His second oldest son Jamie, turns his back on the family because his father will not listen to his propositions on how to save the land. Beth is his only daughter and handles more of the business side of the cattle industry. Finally, his youngest Kaycee is a lot like John, but Kaycee’s wife does not want to live the ranching lifestyle.
Over the many fights to save the land the family is seen coming together to rid the State of all competitors that could possibly take the land. All of the sudden John passed away from unknown causes. Both Kaycee and Beth knew there was someone behind it because there were so many people out there trying to hurt him. They come to find out that Jamie is tied to it and Beth doesn’t take that well, because of her and Jamie’s past. She sets out to hunt and find her brother Jamie to kill him, and as she promised, she did.
After all the pain and recovery, they had no choice but to sell the land. Kaycee sold the ranch. He doesn’t want to follow his fathers legacy, because it will just indulge in more wars over the ranch. Beth starts a ranch with her husband Rip Wheeler, who previously worked at the Yellowstone Ranch. The Ranch is left in the hands of Broken Rock Reservation owned by The Confederated Tribes of Broken Rock. Finally the show closes with a member of the of The Confederate Tribes fixing the grave markers of the Dutton Family’s burial ground.
