Kael Albers is currently a senior at Corry, and he is having an amazing wrestling season so far. Kael is 30-4 for the year, with 21 pins and 100 wins on varsity in only three years.
One-hundred wins is a massive achievement; it’s like scoring 1000 points on varsity basketball. An athlete would need to average 25 wins over four years. That’s hard enough on its own, and Kael did it in only three years.
Kael Albers is somebody who underclassmen and middle school athletes should look up to, so I took the liberty of chatting with Kael to get his view on his great career so far.
Firstly, I asked him why he started wrestling, and he answered by saying, “People pressured me.”
Then I asked what he thought about his year so far and he said it has been very fun and the team is having a great year. I then asked him if he had any plans for wrestling in the future, and he said, “No, not at the moment.”
His advice for younger athletes is to keep working in the off season and stay in the weight room.
