Corry’s Girls Wrestling team headed to Curwensville last weekend to compete in the Curwensville Girls Tournament on Saturday the 4th.
The whole team attended the tournament. The lineup was Aubree Tenney, Finley Fourspring, Makenna Williams, Laikynn Bayle, Callie Breauchy, Leah Mitchell, Alexis Lauta, Koda Kuzma, Farrah Foursrping, Ayvah Talyor, and Mckenzie Doubtt.
As a team they took 1st place out of 24 teams. Individually, both Finley Foursrping (106 weight class) and Alexis Lauta (124 weight class) placed first in their weight class; Makenna Williams (112 weight class) and Koda Kuzma (136 weight class) placed second in their class; Farrah Foursrping (142 weight class) came in third; Laikynn Bayle (118 weight class) got fourth; Ayvan Taylor (148 weight class) got fifth.
The girls team is new this year and has come out with a bang; they’ve had four tournaments so far this season and have placed in the top three for all. They’ve also had three duels and are undefeated so far.
Their head coach, Darci Hatley, commented on the girl’s season so far, “Their season is going very well. They are athletic girls with a great work ethic and desire to learn and compete.
The girl’s next duel will be on Tuesday the 21st against McDowell.
