In February, one of the most prolific sporting events in the world is held. The Super Bowl brings in millions of viewers and is globally considered one of the top sporting events. With the new year beginning, the NFL is set to play their first round playoffs on the second weekend of January. The playoffs are the start of teams push to the Super Bowl. With the playoffs starting, many people predict how they think the playoff games will go, so below I listed the top 10 teams I believe have the best shot to win the Super Bowl.
10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-7)
- The Buccaneers have suffered many crucial injuries throughout the year, including star receiver Chris Godwin. The Buccaneers have a high-scoring offense, however, the defense is not so good.
9. Los Angeles Chargers (11-6)
- Similar to the Commanders, new Head Coach John Harbaugh turned them into a winning team. They have one of the top quarterbacks and top defenses in the league. Their offense lacks compared to other teams in the playoffs.
8. Washington Commanders (12-5)
- The Commanders have completely turned around their franchise. Last season they went 4-13. After drafting rookie QB Jayden Daniels they are legit contenders. They don’t a complete team compared to the other playoff teams, but they have showed they can win.
7. Green Bay Packers (11-6)
- The packers come in at 7, because although they have 6 losses, 5 of those losses came against teams with 13 wins or more. In order to be higher on this list, they need to prove they can beat the best teams.
6. Minnesota Vikings (14-3)
- Coming into the season, the Vikings at their starting QB suffer a season ending injury, forcing them to start their backup, Sam Darnold. Darnold has proven he can be elite, carrying the Vikings to a 14-3 record.
5. Kansas City Chiefs (15-2)
- Although the Chiefs are tied for the best record in the NFL, a majority of their games are one-score games. I don’t think that that will continue in the playoffs and they will lose their first one-score game. They aren’t as complete as the teams above them, even with a first round bye.
4. Baltimore Ravens (12-5)
- The Ravens are all around a good team and the free agency pickup, Derrick Henry, gave them the boost with the AFC North. Unfortunately, their best receiver went down with an injury in their last game.
3. Philadelphia Eagles (14-3)
- The Eagles sat their starters in the last week of the season, and if fully healthy can be one of the best teams in football. Their star RB could have broken the single rushing record if he played in the last game. Similar to the Lions, they have an explosive offense.
2. Buffalo Bills (13-4)
- At the beginning of the year the Bills weren’t expected to be where they are. However, their star QB, Josh Allen, has propelled them to an AFC East title. The Bills have beat some of the best teams in football, including the Lions.
1. Detroit Lions (15-2)
- The winner of the NFC North finished the season tied for the best record in the NFL. They have an explosive offense that outscores almost any opponent. Game in, game out they have proven to be the best team in football so far.
