Recently married Summer DeMarco is currently a science teacher here at the Corry Middle-High School. She was born on June 1, 1995, and grew up in North East, Pennsylvania. She attended North East High School and went to college at Edinboro University.
When Mrs. DeMarco was younger, she wanted to be a horticulturist, which is a person who manages and cultivates a garden. She carried this passion into her hobbies today, which she said were mainly gardening and a little bit of restoring furniture. She also occasionally plays pickleball with her husband, Danny DeMarco. However, she answered that she got into this job because she wanted to make a difference in the lives of kids and because she loves science. She grew up with her sister Autymn, who is 34 years old.
When I asked her what some of her favorite things are, she answered that her favorite color is purple, favorite movie is “Almost Famous,” favorite song is “Over the Hills Far Away” by Led Zeppelin, her favorite food is mashed potatoes, and her favorite emotion is joy. She said that her favorite quote is one by Martin Luther King Jr., saying, “Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” Then, she also answered that she would match her personality to a cat because she is quite introverted like most cats are. She also said that her biggest pet peeve is when people are mean for no reason.
Mrs. DeMarco answered that her idea of a perfect date would be going to a music festival with her husband. She also answered that her idea of a dream vacation would be laying on a beach relaxing all day. However, she said that she would also like to go on a road trip to see all the national parks in the western parts of the U.S. because she says they are beautiful.
One piece of advice she would give to readers is, “The only thing you actually have control over is gratitude and effort.”
