'COD: Black Ops 6' is a return to form for the legendary franchise

Activision has had a tough break on Call of Duty games with some of the worst ratings in the history of the game, starting with Vanguard and ending with Modern Warfare 3. But this year may be their year when teaming up with Treyarch, having everyone very amped for the release of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” ever since it was first announced on May 23, 2024, and released on October 25, 2024. It brings this game back to its prime ever since the original “Call of Duty: Black Ops” with the amazing graphics and ramping up the zombies game mode, drawing me and other people in.

Treyarch has made many new changes ever since the last Call of Duty. To begin with, unlike in the past, in previous titles they offered exclusive maps or features to only one specific platform, but this game provides a level playing field for all players from any platform. In addition, they have made a new omnidirectional movement system that, when prone, allows your character to spin all the way around instead of sticking you in one certain position, which makes for better mobility to increase the action of your games. What most people look forward to is the campaign, which gives you a great mix between action and adventure and characters for you to get to know their backstory, causing a connection with them.

The only downside of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” is that multiple guns are way too overpowered in multiplayer, as well as the grenades. An instance of this is when you’re in a gun battle with a shotgun and you hit them multiple times, but then your character dies by one shot, which doesn’t have any logical explanation. In fixing this, it would bring back way more players to multiplayer by making the weapons more stable to each other, making for better battles and an even better time.

Overall, I cannot get off this game and enjoy every second of it. It gives you the epic battles and adventures you all may have been seeking. It gives you a sense of what real people in the military sometimes have to go through, and it creates a better understanding and respect for them for what they sometimes have to do for us. In my eyes, this is the best Call of Duty of all time. While others may disagree, you won’t know until you try it out.
