January 8, 2007, Nolan Isaac Carey was born into this world and the city of Corry. Nolan grew up alongside his two siblings, Eli (22) and Ellie (15). Hobbies that got his attention growing up were sports, hunting, and fishing.
Nolan stated that he loved to watch “Tom and Jerry” and play his 3DS, which had Mario Kart on it, as he grew up. He touched on who his biggest influence was as he got older. His answer was no one else but Travis Carey, his father, or as Nolan calls him, “T. Carey.”
When asked what animal he matches his personality to, he said a capybara. Why, you may ask? We may never know. However, he did get into the specifics when he was asked what his favorite food was. The food being Chicken Alfredo with chicken and dumpling soup alongside breadsticks at the one and only Olive Garden.
At the moment, a movie at the top of his favorites list is “The Waterboy” or “Happy Gilmore.” “Really just anything with Adam Sandler,” he said. Carey is also a man of many talents, some talents you may not be aware of, just like how he can whistle through his front teeth.
Taking a glance into the future, Nolan would like to pursue engineering in college while carrying his javelin abilities to the collegiate level in track and field. Nolan revealed that he is going to commit to Division 1 eventually. Some schools of interest are Bucknell, Lehigh, Penn State, Allegheny, St. Francis, and so on. His current personal best in javelin is 172’-11”, with his senior season still pending. Nolan has had a very successful career in football on top of that. He broke Corry’s all-time passing yards record, originally held by Scottie Frisina, which was set in 2009. Carey led the Beavers to a 9-3 record and a playoff win over the Bison. Lastly, Nolan’s favorite football memory will be when they spoiled Fairview’s homecoming game during his sophomore year. Carey led them back from a double digit deficit to snag the win.
Hopefully this article was able to teach readers a little bit more about Nolan Carey. As the writer, I learned a few things myself.
