It was a Saturday afternoon, but unlike any other. My family and I were bored, so we went in our can ams for a ride on our back trails. After we arrived at the trails, we started heading down the ravine. We eventually got to a creek, but something was off. In the distance, there was a faded pink tricycle, just sitting in the water.
What was weird was, nobody was around to put it in there. We did come to the conclusion that one of our Amish neighbor’s children may have played in our woods and left it there, but that was it. However, what didn’t make sense was the fact that the woods that it was in is secluded and way far back than the rest of the area. It’s not even close to where the Amish live.
We left the woods, thinking not much about what we just saw, and went on another trail, before circling back to the one we were just on. We drove by the creek, but to our surprise, the tricycle was not there. In the few minutes that we were gone, maybe someone came to get it. There were, in fact, no signs of a person being there, besides the tracks made from our can ams. There were no human footprints or anything. There was no way someone would have gotten it back within the span of a few moments either.
We did some investigating, trying to see where the tricycle went, or who would even step foot on our property, and after driving around some more, there it was. It was far away from the original location, sitting in one of the trees. (This tree was not small either.)
When the tricycle was discovered, it was positioned so perfectly that a person (or what we think was a person) could not have been able to throw it up. It was positioned so it looked like it had been sitting there for a long time, even though it was, moments earlier, in the creek, far away from where it was now.
Now, things really started to seem weird, so we did some more digging. We got my grandparents involved, and we told them where it was now. They were at home previously, and had no idea of what was going on, so we brought them with us and showed them the situation. When they saw it, their eyes widened. They went up to the tree, but there was no stand or anything. It was too tall for a ladder to reach the limbs, and there was no way a kid could have even put it up so high, especially not in a short amount of time. No adult could have even been able to pull it off either.
After this, my family was curious, so we went and asked all of our other family who lived in the area if they knew what happened to the tricycle. Our grandparents followed us, hoping to find an answer as well. When we questioned our other family members, they weren’t even home during this event. None of them knew of it either. Nobody knew who owned it in the first place.
After not having any success with finding answers, we went home, coming to the conclusion that it was probably just a prank or something. I went into my backyard animal barn, opened the door, and what I saw made me jump. The tricycle was sitting on top of where we store our animal food.
Now, the thing was, my grandparents were with us the entire time. When we left the woods, no one had the tricycle in their can am. In fact, to even get it out of the tree it was in would not have been accessible by ladder.
After this, my grandparents took the tricycle to the junk pile that we have behind one of our storage barns and buried it. When we revisited it months later, it was gone again. Could this whole thing be fake? Maybe, but I believe there is a ghost or something haunting my family.
I have a theory about this mystery. I believe that the woods really are haunted, and this whole thing proves it. I mean, how can a person possibly move a tricycle up into the tree within a short amount of time, especially without the help of a ladder or person? I believe this tricycle in particular is haunted as well, because how can it even move by itself ? Also, who would want a tricycle that is broken and useless anyways? The only thing I can think of that would want this is the ghost of someone who lost it before they died.
