We recently went on a trip to an NBA game. We went to see the Portland Trailblazers face off against the Detroit Pistons in Detroit. It was the two of us and fellow reporter Arthur Cassidy.
We left for our trip around 9 a.m. considering the game was at 7 p.m. and it was a 7-hour drive over to Detroit. On the way to the game, we went through a lot of cool places, including Cleveland and Toledo. We also saw a nuclear power plant on the way, which was really interesting because there’s nothing like that near us.
When we arrived to the game, it was amazing. I go to an NBA game every year, but every year it has the same feeling. It’s very exciting seeing the players and being so close to the court. The first quarter started, and it didn’t go very well. The Trailblazers were down, and Cade Cunningham was cooking them. The second quarter started, and it also did not end well.
It was halftime, and the game was looking lost. The Trailblazers were down 59-47. We went to go get something to eat, but when we returned, they started coming back. Momentum was going our way.
At the end of the third, it was 84-83, and it was back to a close game. The Trailblazers ended up winning in a close game by only nine points, 110-101. The game was really fun to go to, and the experience was great. Shaedon Sharpe ended up having his career high at the time of 29 points, which was a good thing to see.
The day ended up with us staying at a really nice hotel in downtown Detroit and getting food, and that was the end of our trip.
