One morning I woke up panicked, as I had thought I had slept through my alarms and was going to be late for school. I grabbed my phone to check the time and it said it was 9:07. However, any feeling I had of worry suddenly went away as I saw the day. I was on Thanksgiving break! A feeling of relief washed over me as I laid back down in my bed. I let myself soundly fall back asleep.
It had now been about an hour since I got up for good, and I decided that I was going to have a productive day. I made a list of things that I had wanted to get done: clean my room, go on a walk, get a few things from the store, and go get some other smaller errands done. After I did my hair, makeup, and got dressed, I was ready to go. I first decided to clean my room really quickly, since I’d be out for a lot of the day.
I had my room cleaned and looked good again. I decided that I was going to grab something from a coffee shop, since I didn’t feel like cooking or making anything. I got in my car and drove to our local coffee shop, where I got an iced coffee and a small snack to fill myself up. I decided that I would go to the local clothing shop since I needed a cute top for Thanksgiving. I was looking around when all of a sudden I heard a loud crash! I looked around and hoped I could find an answer to the sudden noise. But nothing was different in the store, so where did it come from?
I got to the top and walked outside and went to the neighboring store. It was a small grocery store that would have what I needed. I pulled out my phone and glanced at my list of things I needed: makeup remover, shampoo, and ice cream. After looking around the store for thirty minutes, I couldn’t find one thing that I needed. Leaving the store I was upset because somehow there was not one thing that I needed.
After a few minutes I finally reached my car. My eyes widened in surprise as I saw that my window had been cracked by a rock. That must’ve been the crash I heard! Anger overcame me since this day went from being good to bad in a second. Suddenly this day had become a very awful day; this is not how I wanted to start out my Thanksgiving break…
