These are my top 10 favorite horse breeds. Obviously all horses can be wonderful in their own way and if they are treated well. This is just my opinion on which ones I like the best.
10. Arabian horse
They are very stubborn horses that have a mind of their own all of the time. The Arabian horse has contributed its qualities to most of the modern breeds of light horses. The Arabian breed is a compact, relatively small horse with a small head, protruding eyes, wide nostrils, marked withers, and a short back. It usually has only 23 vertebrae, while 24 is the usual number for other breeds.
They are my number ten because they can be nice horses but recently they have gotten farrell.
9. Morgan horse
Morgans appear to be a strong powerful horse, and the breed is well known as an easy keeper. The breed standard for height ranges from 14.1 to 15.2 hands (57 to 62 inches, 145 to 157 cm), with some individuals over and under.
They are my number nine because I have never been around ine and because they are typically english horses and I ride western.
8. Standardbred
Standardbred’s are generally well-muscled and similar to, but a bit heavier than, a Thoroughbred, with a large head often with a Roman nose profile, straight neck, sloping shoulder, defined withers, a deep girth, strong bone (legs) and hard feet.
They are my number eight because I have never had one or rode one.
7. Fjord Horse
These horses are amazing horses for kids. These horses are also used for lessons for beginners.
They are my number seven because they are sweet horses but I have never met one.
6. Tennessee Walking Horse
Tennessee walking horses have amazing personalities and have a good mind. However in the past they weren’t always treated the best and people used to take advantage of the way they moved. They are usually pretty tall horses and if you look them up most of them will be the color black or a dark brown. They are used more in english riding like dressage.
They are my number six because they can be great if you train them right and treat them good.
5. American Paint
American paints are a beautiful breed of horse. Today, the stock-type conformation, natural intelligence and willing disposition make the American Paint Horse an ideal partner for pleasure riding, showing, ranching, racing, rodeoing, trail riding, or just as a gentle friend for the kids.
They are my number five because of how amazing this horse breed can be.
4. Mustang
Mustangs are typically the ones you see wild in the west however if you get lucky enough to find one for sale or anything they can be great horses. There are several unique things about Mustangs that other feral horses in America do not have. For example, Mustangs have a unique shape with proportionate conformation and a small nose. Most American Mustangs are intelligent horses with an innate sense of self-preservation. While independent, these horses are quick learners and often adjust well to domestic homes with enough time. Adopted Mustangs may have a stronger fight-or-flight response than domesticated horses due to their survival instincts.
They are my number four because they can be great.
3. Appaloosa
Appaloosas are a very pretty breed that have spots. Appaloosas are known for their intelligence and versatility, making them capable of excelling in a wide range of activities. They are quick learners and can be trained in various disciplines, including jumping, racing, barrel racing, dressage, and even trail riding.
They are my number three because they are fast and intelligent horses but they also have a mind of their own at times. They are also not super common and sometimes hard to find.
2. Quarter Horses
Quarter horses are a fast and smart breed of horses. They are built very stocky and they have huge hooves. They are well minded and know how to get the job done. They can have different colored coats. They can also be big or small.
They are number two because you can always have a good ride on these horses. Quarter horses are popular because they are smart and fast. They are typically used for western events like barrel racing, calf roping and team roping.
1. Thoroughbred
Thoroughbreds are horses that are made to race on tracks. However you can train them to do almost anything. They have long legs and they are very fast horses so they are typically used for speed events. They can have different color coats.
They are my number one because they are absolutely amazing horses and they are very sweet. I have had two of them and they have been some of the best horses I have even owned. They can be contemptible but once you get over that they are perfect.
