Corry’s High School football seniors’ season is coming to an end, and what follows is their advice and their opinions on their high school career. These seniors were asked to give advice for freshmen in football as well as their thoughts on their time playing.
Will Allen’s advice to freshmen is “Be nice to your quarterback.” This advice will help upcoming and current freshmen that don’t currently try to make connections with their quarterback already. Will Allen’s thoughts on his high school career and what he would say about it were that “It was fun, but trust in the process; there will be highs and lows.”
Next, Zach Turben’s advice to the freshman of the school was “Get into the weight room.” Reflecting on his high school football career, he felt that “It was very fun; I should have started earlier.”
Porter Kafferlin’s advice was to, “Listen to the coaches.” Reflecting back, he also said, “I had a lot of fun and learned a lot of lessons from it.”
The next senior was Mason Savitz, whose advice to incoming freshmen was to “Participate in multiple sports.” When asked why, he said that it will help with stamina and it can create new friends. His statement on his high school career was that “It was fun making new friends in different grades.”
Nick Lesher’s advice was “Don’t talk back to the refs.” Talking back to refs can get you in trouble in the game and with your coaches. Nick said that “it was a blast, one of the best sports I’ve ever played,” while talking about his football experience in Corry.
“Stick to the process and listen to coaching,” Nolan Carey said. Listening to your coaches is very important so you will know what to do when you need to do it. Nolan’s remembrance of his high school football years was that, “It was very fun and not long enough.”
Senior Frankie Barr said, “Don’t be hanger backers.” When asked what it means, he said that it means to try your best, don’t hide during practice, and try to participate. When Frankie was asked what are your thoughts of your time in Corry football, he said, “It was fun building relationships with other players.”
Kael Albers’ advice was to “stay in the weight room.” Also reflecting back over the years, he said, “I had a lot of fun and learned a lot of lessons from it.”
The next senior was Tyler Aderhold, whose advice to the freshman was to “Never give up.” While Tyler was looking back over his football career, he said, “There were lows, but in me never giving up, there were also highs.”
The last two seniors are Jameson Dyne and Aidan Trask. Jameson’s advice to the freshman players in Corry was to “Stay in the weight room and never give up.” James’s thoughts on his time in Corry football were that “It was very fun throughout the years.”
The final senior was Aiden Trask, and his advice was to “Get in the weight room.” When asked what were his thoughts about his time in football in Corry, he said, “I had a lot of fun and learned a lot of life lessons from it.”
These seniors were all asked the same questions, and the variety of the answers shows how many good things can come from playing football and advice to help you in football.
