One of the biggest things that I like about “The Hunter: Call of the Wild” is the realistic features. It shows great scenery and has such a realistic feel to it. The game also has a great background sound to it. It makes the game feel like you’re back in 2013 playing a Wii hunting game.
The animals in the game make it even better with how they react to the hunters footsteps, any extra noise, and how they can produce warning calls if the hunter gets too close. It seems like in other hunting games, you can get so close to the animal that it’s just unrealistic. Any animal in the real world will hear a human and do everything in it’s power to get away from the human or try and warn the human to stay away.
One of my biggest flaws about “The Hunter: Call of the Wild” is that the game kind of drags on. In order to feel more accomplished you have to buy certain packages within the game. There isn’t much of a plot to it, you just hunt. Another thing I dislike is that you’re on foot most of the time. If you get in a stand, you can try and call animals in but the likelihood of them actually coming to the area you’re hunting is pretty slim. Although I love how realistic it is, I don’t like that you can’t come within 400 yards of an animal, so you’re forced to crouch and walk to the animal causing less noise. It’s just very slow getting there.
Overall, I absolutely love this game. It gives inexperienced hunters a bit of a taste of what professional hunters do. Professionals go out and do the real thing, and it makes me have a huge respect for what professional hunters do. In my eyes it is a sport: hunting is strategic and it is certainly not for everyone.
