Abby Kane is an eighth grade student who was born on March 15, 2011. She was born in San Diego, California, and lived there for around the first 10 years of her life. When in San Diego, she attended Campo Elementary School until the 5th grade. Now, she currently attends Corry Area Middle-High School and has been for almost four years. She has six siblings, being the second oldest of the bunch, aged 3, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 22.
Currently for Corry she runs track and does the 4×1, the 200 meter dash, and 400 meter dash. Her favorite hobbies consist of cooking and running. Her biggest dream is to go to the Olympics and said that she wants to continue being a runner when she grows up.
I got the chance to ask her about some of her favorite things: her favorite movie, her favorite song, her favorite color, and her favorite emotion. She struggled with answering her favorite emotion, but ultimately she did say it’s happy because she likes being happy. Her favorite color is orange, her favorite song is “Thinkin Bout You” by Frank Ocean, and her favorite movie is “John Wick.” I also asked her what her favorite quote is, and she struggled answering this one too. After a little research with me, she answered with a quote by Martin Luther King Jr., being, “Out of the Mountain of despair, a stone of hope.” She also was asked what her favorite class is, and she said it would have to be either chorus or math because she likes the teacher in chorus and she said math is easy for her. The last question about favorites is her favorite food, and she answered with either bread or steak.
Wrapping up the interview, she said that if she were able to go to any place in the world, she would want to go to India. Her reason for this was pretty funny. She said she would want to go to India because she “looks Indian.” She also said she would want to go to Italy because she “wants real pasta.” However, it won’t be happening soon because she said she would either go to Tennessee or Las Vegas as her next family vacation.
Abby said her idea of a perfect date would have to be spending quality time in a field of flowers. Her biggest pet peeve would have to be her little brother.
One last piece of advice Abby would like to leave the readers is, “Live life and be free.”
