Out of all the wonderful students here at Corry High School, Addison Schwabenbauer sticks out among the rest. Addison (goes by Addy or Schwab) is a sophomore here at Corry High School. She was born on September 19, 2008, and has just recently turned 16 years old! Addy shares many passions, some of which include playing soccer, swimming, reading, playing with her golden-doodle, Poppy, and her baby sister Seylah. She has two younger siblings, one brother, Dawson who is 11 and also attends Corry High School, and Seylah who is 4 months old.
Addy has a passion for traveling and has always dreamed of going to France to see the beautiful Eiffel Tower and New York City because she loves being in big cities. She also hopes to go to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon, and all of the amazing scenery there. Though it was a tough decision to make, when asked what her favorite movie was, Addy had to go with the classic Tom Cruise film “Mission Impossible.” Her favorite song is called “Hearse For Two” by The Funeral Portrait. Her favorite color is lime green, the same shade as the lead singer of The Funeral Portrait’s hair, Lee Jennings. If any of you know Addy, it is very clear that she has a very bubbly and goofy personality, so it only makes sense that her favorite emotion is goofiness.
This upcoming summer, Addy explained how she and her family were making plans to go to Universal Studios in Orlando Florida. She could barely control how excited she was about that trip. It sounds like lots of fun! When Addy was asked if she could name her favorite quote, she had to go with a classic, “Movies don’t create psychos, movies make psychos more creative.” This quote is from the ’90s horror film, “Scream.” How could anyone have guessed she would have picked a quote from a horror movie? It’s quite clear that if you know her, you would know how much she loves the spooky season and watching any scary movie she can get her hands on.
Addy said that if she were any animal in the world, she would definitely be a gorilla. She loves being goofy and doing wild stuff just like those crazy creatures. Addy’s idea of a perfect vacation is somewhere on a beach with beautiful white sand, crystal clear waters, dancing palm trees, lots and lots of people, next to a huge city. Of course this place would need to give off “Moana” vibes and if it doesn’t, she’s not going!
Addy said in order to have a perfect date, you’ve got to go to the drive-in, in a truck, with lots of snacks, pillows, and blankets. Addy explained that she has many classes that she enjoys, some she has this year, and some she had in the past. Last year, Addy had Ms. Jackman for Intro to Biology, and she said she just couldn’t get enough of that class. She enjoys learning about what makes up cells and the body. This year, Addy said that her favorite class is English taught by Ms. Seggi. She said she likes this class because she finds English to be a very important subject, and she wants to know how to use her own language properly, of course.
Addy’s favorite food is the shrimp alfredo from Olive Garden. This year she is involved in many sports that include soccer, swimming, and discus. When asked what her biggest pet peeve is, Addy explained that she hates it when people chew on ice. She just can’t grasp why people enjoy it.
Towards the end of the interview, Addy was asked to give some advice to the readers. She thought for a moment, and then said, “Don’t focus on the past, focus on the now.”
