In our life we often get overwhelmed if what we are doing is setting us up for our future or if we are doing the right thing even. As humans we go back and forth battling our thoughts trying to make everything make sense from a young age. But the beauty in life is nothing has to make sense and no matter what path you choose you’re gonna go somewhere. People get scared at the thought of not knowing who they are or what they were put on the earth to do, but if you look at life in the big picture your opportunities are endless no matter who you are or where you came from. And that’s where humans should feel reassured. Reassured that no matter where one route takes them the outcome of it will be another door open opportunity.
There was this girl named Halo. Halo grew up in a townhouse in New York City her whole life. She saw new things on the daily, used public transportation from a young age, and often found herself wandering around on random back streets when she was bored. She always felt like an outcast even though everyone else saw her in a completely different way. People didn’t know it except for her, but she was often disassociated with reality and was in her own little world. She lived her life like she felt normal, hanging out with friends, going out, shopping, posting on social media, etc. But she always had this little feeling in her chest like she never really belonged.
From a young age Halo felt like she knew exactly what she wanted to do, where she wanted to live, and the life that she had desired for herself. As she grew up she faced the feeling of the fear of overwhelming failure. People often saw her as privileged and she knew she was compared to some people, but she also never understood the statement because she saw that everyone was privileged because we were human.
One day she went out to a café by herself and was going to do some research on colleges she could potentially go to and what she could major in. As she was sitting there an old lady came up to her. She told her, “I see exactly what you are supposed to be, but it’s up to you to find it within yourself.” She walked away. That one line stuck with Halo. It never left her mind. She asked back to herself, “But how do I even find myself?
Halo thought about that since the day it happened. Now three months later she still was asking herself the same question. On her way to school she was in a taxi. She had her headphones in, her eyes shut, and living her life in her own little world. Until suddenly reality hit her. A bus ended up hitting the taxi head on. The driver died and Halo almost just nearly did. It was a miracle she made it, every doctor told her. Halo was confused as to why she was the one that survived? That five minute taxi ride changed her life forever. She realized exactly what she needed to do. She needed to help people and show them how she sees life from her own perspective….
