10. Pittsburgh Steelers – The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off an amazing offseason releasing Kenny Pickett, which is well-deserved, and signing two new QBs, which are both coming off being QBs from their previous team, ex-Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields and ex-Broncos quarterback Russel Wilson also picking up LB Patrick Queen from the Baltimore Ravens. In spite of having a big loss to the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs last year, they still made big accomplishments even with their defense when at the time their only stand out player was TJ Watt. Through five weeks, the Steelers are looking like a solid team to make the playoffs with a record of 3-2 . With a recent loss to the Cowboys I think they will still overcome that loss and keep winning games in the future, placing them at number 10 on this list.
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Baker Mayfield has absolutely revived Tampa, leading them to a 9-8 record last year. Although it’s not the best, they are at least above 500. This year the Buccaneers have made some notable re-signings, which included WR Mike Evans and QB Baker Mayfield, in the draft they picked up an explosive safety Tykee Smith. Through five weeks, their record is 3-2, losing to the Falcons their early success even with two rough losses place them at number nine on this list.
8. Buffalo Bills – The Buffalo Bills are coming off a disappointing end from last season, losing to the Chiefs in the divisional round once again not being able to overcome Patrick Mahomes. Their offseason was quite disappointing, losing a main target for Josh Allen WR Stefon Diggs, also offensive lineman Mike Edwards, as well as safety Kareem Jackson and many others that were essential to the Bills success last year. Through five weeks, they are starting out with a 3-2 record, losing to very good teams in the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans, placing them at number eight on this list.
7. Houston Texans – The Houston Texans are coming off a big year last year with now second year starting QB CJ Stroud. Their electric offense led them to many touchdowns and their high-powered defense led to big stops. Houston also had a monster offseason trading for WR Stefon Diggs coming off a big season in Buffalo, and RB Joe Mixion who was a very strong runner for the Bengals before getting traded. The Texans’ record stands at 4-1 through five weeks and is looking like an early Super Bowl contender, earning the number seven pick on this list.
6. Washington Commanders – The Washington Commanders have drastically improved from last year with a record of 4-1 compared to last year. Through five weeks their record was 2-3. They picked up a promising QB in Jayden Danials and returning wide receiver Terry McLaurin. New signings for the commanders include RB Austin Ekeler, LB Bobby Wagner, and WR Noah Brown. Washington’s four win streak earns them the number six spot.
5. Atlanta Falcons – The Atlanta Falcons had a monster offseason acquiring a veteran QB in Kirk Cousins from the Minnesota Vikings. Other big signings include WR Darnell Mooney, and underrated WR Ray-Ray McCloud III. Many expected them to not have a winning record through five weeks but they were very wrong beating the Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With their surprising record of 3-2 they gained the number five pick.
4. Detroit Lions –The Detroit Lions is a monster team coming off an impressive record last year of 12-5 with several years before with losing records. QB Jared Goff is coming off an amazing year last year with the return of his WR1 Amon-Ra St. Brown. Through 5 weeks the Lions have a 3-1 their Super Bowl contending offense and powerhouse of a defense place them at numberfour on this list so far.
3. Baltimore Ravens – The Baltimore Ravens are by far the most complete team on this list with weapons like QB Lamar Jackson, WR Zay Flowers, and a huge new addition in Derrick Henry. Although off to a rough two weeks, they picked it up beating the Cowboys, Bills, and Bengals. Improving to a 3-2 record earned my number three pick not only because of their complete team but their ability to get up and get back on track to keep winning after losing two in a row at the start of the season.
2. Kansas City Chiefs – The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off hot this season trying to get a three peat after 2 straight Super Bowl wins with an extremely underrated offense they added two notable additions to this already explosive offense. Those signings are WR Marquise Brown and in the draft WR Xavier Worthy, who broke the NFL record for the fastest 40-yard dash time. Their record is currently 4-0 and their ability to keep winning with any personnel makes them gain the number two pick.
1. Minnesota Vikings – The Minnesota Vikings have risen to the challenge with their underrated offense and stellar defense getting rid of starting Quarterback Kirk Cousins having to put on a QB who has been a backup almost all of his career Sam Darnold. In free agency they made huge moves acquiring WR Brandon Powell, DT Jerry Tillery, LB Blake Cashman, RB Aaron Jones, QB Sam Darnold, DE Jonathan Greenard, and OLB Andrew Van Ginkel. They also signed DL Jerry Tillery and WR Trent Sherfield. Even with removing their primary starting QB of six seasons, Sam Darnold stepped up and led them through five weeks undefeated gaining the number one pick.
