At some point in your life, you have watched or seen an NFL game somewhere. Most people know that at the end of the season they play a championship game called the Super Bowl, crowning whoever wins national champions. The Super Bowl is one of the largest events in sports. Through five weeks of the NFL season teams have shown they can play at Super Bowl level, or teams have shows they can’t play at that level. This article ranks the top 10 teams in order of how likely they are to make the Super Bowl.
10. 49ers (2-3)
- The 49ers were one of the favorites if not the favorite to win it all going into the season. However, already five weeks into the season and their star RB hasn’t played a single snap yet due to injury. Along with that they have been plagued with injuries all over. If the 49ers can prevent these injuries and stay healthy, they are also a team with potential to make a run.
9. Cowboys (3-2)
- After paying their star wide out and their QB the Cowboys were hopeful going into the season. However, unlike past years this year the Cowboys run game looks virtually nonexistent. In week 5 their Rb 1 showed promise, rushing for 87 yards leading to a win. If the Cowboys can stay healthy and figure out their run game, they have a chance at making a run.
8. Packers (3-2)
- Coming off a deep playoff run with a young team last season, the Packers looked promising heading into this season. However, in week 1 they faced a minor setback with their star QB getting hurt and missing a couple of games. Their backup sufficed, and with their starter back, the Packers are back on track for another deep playoff run.
7. Commanders (4-1)
- The Commanders were one of the worst teams in football last season. In the off-season the Commanders drafted rookie QB Jayden Daniels and hired head coach Dan Quinn. These two large acquisitions propelled the Commanders to a 4-1 record. If Jayden continues his MVP level play, the Commanders are a team to worry about.
6. Bills (3-2)
- The Bills started the season off fast jumping to 3-0, and looking like the best team in football. The past two weeks the Bills have looked rough, dropping their last two. If the Bills can figure out how to play football like they did the first three weeks, they will be a team to worry about.
5. Texans (4-1)
- The Texans came into the season with one of the most explosive offensives in the league, and they have proved that so far this year. Although a key part in the offense, Joe Mixon, is out, he looks to return very soon. The Texans made a lot of significant moves this off-season setting themselves to be contenders. The Texans just have to prove that they can win when it matters.
4. Ravens (3-2)
- After starting the season slow, over the past three games the Ravens have shown their explosive potential and ability to win football games. Going into the season the Ravens were the favorite, and have shown glimpses of why in the past weeks. The Ravens have yet to prove that they are capable of winning games when it matters most.
3. Lions (3-1)
- After the last run to the NFC championship the Lions have proved that they are capable of winning. They have relatively the same team along with the same coach. The Lions lack of experience and risky play calling make it hard to put them higher than three.
2. Vikings (5-0)
- Minnesota makes a convincing case for the number spot. Over the past five weeks the Vikings have shown themselves to be the best in football. The only thing that is holding them back is if Sam Darnold is able to keep up this level of play.
1. Chiefs (5-0)
- Through week 5 of the NFL season, the Chiefs have looked like one of the best teams in football. The reason they are number one is their coaching and they have shown they can win in the past. The Chiefs have some of the most playoff experience out of any team.
