Halloween season is coming up, and one of my favorite things to do around the Halloween season is watch horror movies.  There are many great movie series  to watch during the month of October, like “Halloween” ,”Scream”, and “Friday The 13th.” These are my top 10 favorite horror movies.

10. “The Conjuring” series – “The Conjuring” movies have really good jump scares. The reason its so high on the list is because I haven’t watched the newest one. My favorite one is the original “Conjuring” (2013)

9. “Barbarian” –  The reason I like this movie is because it is pretty scary. Also the movie explains itself pretty well, for example the backstory is explained and it helps you understand what is happening better.

8. “In a Violent Nature” – I really like this one, because it kind of brings Jason Voorhees into a different perspective. And its very cool to see it like that, because the characters are very similar.

7. “Insidious” series – This is on my list, because it has arguably the best jump scare of all horror. The jump scare is in “Insidious, Chapter 3” which is also my favorite one out of the series. Also all the movies are very creepy, and suspenseful.

6. “Halloween” series – I really like the “Halloween” movies because Michael Myers is a really good character for a villain. Another thing I love about these movies is the soundtrack. It’s great it really makes the movie ten times scarier. My favorite movie from this series is either “Halloween”(2018) or the original one.

5. ” Late Night with the Devil” – This movie is on my list because it’s supposed to be like a talk show about a possessed girl going onto it. The movie does a really good job with making it seem like you’re actually watching a talk show. The only thing with this movie is that the ending is confusing and left me wondering what happened.

4. “Smile” – “Smile” is good because it is one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. The concept of it is just really scary. Also, the new “Smile” movie is coming out right now so I am excited to see that in the movie theater .

3. ” Talk to Me” – This movie is in the top three on my list because has some really disturbing and scary scenes in it. Also the ending  leaves you in awe.

2. “Longlegs” – This movie came out recently, and I think it is the best horror movie of 2024. It doesn’t have many jump scares but it is just overall really creepy.

1. “Hereditary” – What makes this movie so good is the acting. There is a really disturbing scene in the movie, and the acting makes the scene even better.
