One day, early in the morning, I woke up to the beeping of my alarm. I was so tired I didn’t have the strength to open my eyes. I felt for my alarm clock on my nightstand and hit snooze. Five minutes later it was going off again. I knew I had to get ready for school, so I opened my eyes and got up. I already had my outfit picked out, but once I put my hands in front of me all I could do was scream.
Big elephant arms, a big elephant tummy, a big elephant trunk! And it was all on my body! I heard my mom coming up the stairs, but I knew I couldn’t let her see this. I locked my door and ran to my closet. How am I going to hide this? I thought. All of my clothes were way too small for an elephant. Time flew by and my mom was asking me to come down and get into the car. There was nothing I could do. Once I opened the door to my bedroom, my whole family let out a scream I would never forget.
I ran! All I could do was get away, but once I was outside I was scaring the whole neighborhood. Soon cop cars and helicopters surrounded me.
That’s the last thing I remember until I woke up in an elephant enclosure at the zoo. How was I going to live as an animal with more animals?
