Generation Z is big on music, whether it is pop, rap, country, etc. Most teens today connect to other people through music and create friendships based on what type of music they have in common. People will argue that one genre is better than another genre. So today we will be looking at my top 10 artists (in no specific order) and why.
10. Frank Ocean.
Ocean hasn’t dropped new music recently, but he has created singles and albums that are pieces of art. He remains extremely popular because I and other people really see the art he puts in as an artist.
9. Zach Bryan.
Zach Bryan is a country artist, but to me his songs are a lot more meaningful than just that. Bryan and his songs sound like poems that are being said through the special touch that music can have on a person.
8. Drake.
Drake has a way to put every single thought one mind has into his music and he says it in the realest way, putting things in perspective in a way that you just have to understand to actually like him.
7. J Cole.
J Cole is one of the only rappers that puts poetry into his music. His music is fast and upbeat, but if you sit there and listen to every word he’s saying he’s really just speaking from his soul and adding a beat to it.
6. Lana Del Rey.
Lana has the most angelic voices of our time in music. Her music is purely just art with an overwhelming sense of emotion, but also peace.
5. Taylor Swift.
A lot of people have different emotions about her, but Taylor Swift truly knows what she’s doing, and there’s a reason she is as successful as she is. She makes songs that can target so many different audiences and her music is poetry.
4. Mac Miller.
Mac Miller’s music just has this specific vibe to it, whether it is a sad song or an upbeat song, he’s making us all feel what he is saying.
3. Nicki Minaj.
Nicki Minaj has been relevant since the early 2000s, and I don’t think she’ll ever be irrelevant, at least in our time, because she’s made some of the most popular songs for this generation.
2. Bruno Mars.
Bruno Mars is also one of the artists that will stay relevant for our time because he made catchy, fun, but also heartfelt music.
1. SZA.
SZA only has a few albums, and most of the songs on her albums get big and remain big for years. Some people don’t like female artists, but to like SZA is to understand the real reasons the lyrics are the way they are.
