Marvel Studios has been making films for over a quarter of a decade, and with that they had some huge wins along with some big losses. Today we look at the top 10 best films in my opinion.
- “Avengers: Endgame”
“Endgame” kicks off my list by showing heroes’ resilience when things go bad, but this is not enough to beat its predecessor.
- “Avengers: Infinity War”
“Infinity War” makes its way higher on my list than its sequel, because it was the first MCU movie where the heroes don’t win. It shows realism and that not everything works out.
- “Deadpool and Wolverine”
The most recent film on this list earns its spot by being a huge fan service. It brought characters we’ve been waiting for on the big screen, brought back fan favorites, and dressed the characters in their comic accurate attire.
- “Black Panther”
“Black Panther” was a breath of fresh air when it came out, being a film with a villain with depth, which was an aspect missing in several films before. It also was a big step forward with representation, with allowing an African American director to write the story of the African American character, instead of white washing the story.
- “Dr. Strange”
While not the favorite hero of some, Dr. Strange has held a special space on my shelf since I saw him using his magic, or moreso failing to. To see him transform from the arrogant, self centered jerk he was to being willing to infinity suffer for humanity puts him on this list.
- “The Avengers”
“The Avengers” Pioneered for the team ups of heroes further in the MCU as a whole. With great line deliveries, a great cast and a compelling plot it’s sure to be a classic for a long time to come.
- “X-Men: Days of Future Past”
“X-Men: Days of Future Past” transcends its way into the list by showing the shocking alternate world where it’s essentially a mutant holocaust. It Redeemed Wolverine to make him a better man, and showed that old villains can change.
- “X-Men”
“X Men” was a pioneer of its time. While not the first live action marvel film, it was one of the earliest, with a compelling story and fun characters it burns itself into the mind. For this it earns its spot in my top 3.
- “Logan”
“Logan” is the heart warming, and then breaking film of our favorite X man growing old, as he struggles with survivor’s guilt, and we follow him with his daughter as they search for refuse, before Logan makes the final sacrifice of his life, to save his daughter and her friends.
- “Iron Man”
At my number 1 spot is the first marvel studio film: “Iron man.” Iron man earned this spot in my top ten by being the driving force behind the whole of the MCU. Even with Iron man not being a favorite of mine, I have the film to thank for some of my favorite heroes appearing on screen.
